Determining an Annual Premium for You and Your Spouse
Examples
- If you are hired before 2002 in a benefits-eligible position and your combined age and continuous service as of December 31, 2004 is less than 65, you and your spouse will be entitled to a reduced annual subsidy cap amount based on the Medical Program in which each of you are enrolled if, when you terminate employment with, or die while employed by, RR Donnelley or any of its subsidiaries, you have attained age 55 and have completed at least 10 years of continuous service and your period of continuous service ends on or after your attainment of age 55.
- If you are hired in 2003 by RR Donnelley or any of its subsidiaries, you will have no annual subsidy cap amount, notwithstanding your combined age and continuous service as of December 31, 2004.
- If you are hired before 2002 in a benefits-eligible position, and when you terminate employment with RR Donnelley or any of its subsidiaries your combined age and continuous service is 66 and you are age 53, you are not eligible for an annual subsidy cap amount because your termination did not occur on or after attainment of age 55.
- If you are employed with RR Donnelley or any of its subsidiaries prior to 2002, on December 31, 2004 you have completed 15 years of continuous service and attained age 50, and on January 1, 2005 you are no longer a benefits-eligible employee, you will not be eligible for the annual subsidy cap amount when you terminate employment with RR Donnelley or any of its subsidiaries because your continuous service did not end after you attained age 55. If you later become employed in a benefits-eligible position before you terminate employment with RR Donnelley or any of its subsidiaries and you earn another 10 or more years of continuous service and that period of continuous service ends after you attain age 55, you will then be eligible for an annual subsidy cap amount.
